Scam

We got a phone call at 4 in the morning today. Nothing good ever comes out of 4am phone calls.

The last time it was some guy pretending to be Adrian Paul from Highlander, when really it was some guy from that catalog company that sent me a Highlander/Xena/Hercules catalog a few weeks before. I answered "no" to all his questions about "would you be interested in..." and then when he asked me why I wasn't, I told him "Well for one thing it's 4 o'clock in the morning..." He then proceeded to say "Oh, well I'm in California you know." So it'd be 6am.. much better! NOT.

This time it was someone claiming to be from the credit card company and telling us that there had been a charge to our credit card for a lawnmower and they wanted to verify it with us. Dad said, "No we didn't buy a lawnmower. Just cancel the charge." They insisted that they wanted to verify our account number and could we please tell them our credit card number? Uh.. NO! Dad asked for their number so we could call them back. Their response? "I don't have one."

At the end of the call this person goes, "Well since you aren't cooperating I'm going to cancel your credit card." FINE, GO DO THAT.. not like you COULD since you don't have our account number and can't even get my dad's name right! Idiot scammers.

Put your username into the online dictionary at Merriam-Webster and see what it suggests. (For those of you whose usenames are actual words in English, this might be a bit facile.)

1. analyzer
2. answer
3. answerer
4. answers
5. analyzers
6. enlaced
7. aliennesses
8. eyeliners
9. answered
10. al-Mansur

You're probably wondering what the last choice means. I did too. Except when I looked it up, they said that word wasn't in the dictionary either. Weird.

Re:
They never called me back even though they said they would. Is it too good to be true?
